Primarius Blog - A good business is a consistent business

Business is more about consistency and less about ongoing excitement, most days are just about getting the job done, every day and all day long.  It is rarely exciting, but more about commitment.

As we say (based on what they say in the army) Slow is smooth, and Smooth is Fast - so slow steady continual application is the answer.

We see this on an everyday basis where being in business is all about pushing through the daily grind and not the exciting innovation that everyone expects it is going to be. Innovation is good, but if everything changing regularly then there is the risk of losing focus as the rate of change is too rapid.

Business improvement or expansion should also make sense in both the "story" and the "numbers". We always refer to the WWWWWH&HM of any transaction as we need to ask ourselves the following questions and check:

  1. The story: this is the reason for entering into the purchase or sale transaction and it should answer the Who? What? When? Where? Why? questions.  This is the background, logic or storyline of the plan and what it achieves in an esoteric or from an "ideas" point of view or the vibe.
  2. The numbers: this is all about the money and the proposed transaction results and should answer the How? How much? questions.
