We came across this great new restaurant app, where patrons can view the menu, order, and pay at their table and the service staff just deliver the drinks and the food - it is called meandu. 

This is how it works:

1. Scan: patrons scan the QR code fixed to the table using their smartphone
2. Menu: appears on the phone screen and the clients get a chance to review and discuss before ordering - makes separate billing a cinch too!
3. Orders: are placed on the phone without leaving your table
4. Pay: using the phone either with Amex, PayPal, or credit card
5. Delivery: Staff deliver drinks and meals directly to the table

This is a typical example of the current trends where technology meets not only the needs of the current pandemic (contactless ordering) but makes it restaurant friendly and convenient. This is a value-add for the customer as they do not need to leave the table to order at the counter at busy times or worry about remembering orders and whether or not the kids are killing each other back at the table. However, it is also a huge value add for the restaurant as the staff can focus on meeting patrons, delivering meals, and clearing tables and avoids queues to order at the counter.
