Primarius Blog - Our ISO 9001:2015 audit is coming

Yes, we are about to go through our annual  Quality Assurance (QA) certification audit under ISO 9001:2015 in the next few weeks, which is often known as the "5 ticks", but we choose to use Compass Assurance Services, and receive our certification under this symbol.

Why undergo QA? These are our reasons:

  1. Professional requirements: as members of both CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand we are required to maintain a quality system. Our view is that if you are going to do it you may as well do it properly, so we have gone the next level with International QA accreditation.
  2. Efficiency: re-work is a waste of time.  Using documented and standardised systems and procedures minimises this waste of time, so systemise your processes and save.
  3. Accountability: as part of our various professional accreditations under our licensing, we are required to keep records and report in relation to a number of areas including Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and we have found a way to make updating CPD easy.
  4. Profitability: the benefits of standardised systems is well documented in business, read more here on E-Myth made easy and the differences between different businesses.
  5. Risk: we want to minimise our risk and utilising standardised systems and reporting helps us mitigate our risk exposure.

We have certainly seen the benefits of simple, documented and standardised documents and procedures, read more about writing simple policies and procedures, which is how we have done this.
